when are they going to fix deals with the devil ?
they absolutely suck. the pool is massive and filled with trash tier items that aren't even worth 5 cents let alone a full heart. a good portion of the time they dont even have items in them like tf ?? I was doing a greedier lost run and took the first deal and the next THREE didn't even have items in them. ???? the balance seems awful and like you should always avoid Deals with the devil. I also t hink its stupid that if you go in the devil room but dont take anything you're not guaranteed angel on the first. just icing on the cake if you ever make the mistake of thinking the deal with the devil might not be HORRIBLE.

Hey, player, would you like to get "The Mark", +1 damage and 0.2 speed, for two heart containers...
Or Sacred Heart, x2.3 dmg + 1 + hp up + homing for free?

Hmmm... tough choices.
So yep, devil deals can go f themselves. I go for angels every run now.

Why is missing page 2 even in the game

They should atleast remove ♥♥♥♥ rooms layout, keep em for cursed rooms. Remove red chests, 2 black hearts and other crap. Make it so it gives you 3-4 items that you can pick. Atleast then devil deals are gonna be somewhat good if you have health to spare. Opposite to angel deals, where you can only take 1 item.

Sucks tbh because there's a lot of fun items in the devil pool (dark arts, twisted pair, damocles, death's touch, false phd, etc) that you'll never see in serious runs because there's not much reason to risk going for them. i agree that angel rooms needed improving overall but they made devil rooms kinda garbage now

That'd be the way to go. More choices, at the cost of your health. Or one item, no choice, for free.

Thats why I like Number Magnet trinket. Usually end up with a lot of very good items from devil deal.

Lore wise it's pretty good. The whole theme of repentance is to repent, avoid the wicked sins you were doing like making paths with the devil and just stay in the correct path.
Gameplay wise mmmh let's say they changed how to view the deals, let's make a comparison between before and after.

Before:
Devil deals were made to get more offensive items sooner at the cost of your health, basically a "+str -hp" decision, but it was pratically a no brainer since there was no much generation of blue/black hearts that it didn't matter the cost of hp.
Angel deals were made to be weaker since they were free deals with tons of choices and the occasional free chests, and sometimes even free hp (white hearts), and they were mostly defensive items that helped you survive. Basically a "-str because you would lose some devil deal items +hp" decision, but why would hp matter if you can kill enemies easier and not get hit? Yeah pretty bad.

Now:
Scratch all the past ideas you had, that system sucked and there was no reason to get angel rooms if not because of memes.
Now it's a pretty simple choice. Do you want decent items (at the cost of your health) now, or do you want stronger items (for free) later? Statistically to get angel deals you would have to wait in average for 4 whole floors without even entering a devil room, so of course the stuff you would get it's stronger since the game would reward you to get so long with just treasure room items. It's true that it sucks to get bad devil deals but you have to remember that well...making deals with the devil isn't that great you know? He doesn't want to make you stronger so it makes sense, he just wants to cheat you, that's why some rooms layouts are the one with only red chests, so you can open them and just die because of spiders and troll bombs.

Anyway tl;dr
Before it was devil deal for +str -hp, or later angel deals for -str +hp.
Now it's devil deals for decent items sooner, or angel deals for better items later.

The problem is, there's a lot of runs where you don't get "decent items sooner". And not only because of the items itself, but because of some devil deal room layouts.
Thats the problem everyone is talking about. You're not skipping devil deals and going for an angel deals because of the risk-reward. You're doing that, because there's a high chance of getting nothing from devil deals and reducing your angel deal chance (if we're talking about first devil deal). So by visiting devil deal you end up with the same "risk-reward" staff, but with smaller chances for "better items later".
They really should change devil deal rooms. Or atleast make it so even by looking at the first devil deal, you're still ending up with 100% angel chance.

I still end up looking at first devil deal items on every run while I have some hp to spare (cause I'm streaking and it's gonna suck if I die by skipping something good in them and lose a run while getting only spacebar items in angel rooms) and most of the time I can still get angel deal next, but sometimes I really regret it.

This game still involves RNG and it's fine to have rooms with "nothing" as you say.
Entering a devil room it's not guaranteed to have only good outcomes anymore, like everything in the game even angel deals (because items like breath of life, guardian angel, etc. still exist). It really sucks that entering a devil deal room can result in nothing good, and that's exactly why it's a good change.
The whole point of the devil deals it's that it's a gamble now, and you have to really think about it instead of grabbing everything. You either resist to gamble and get a good deal later, or just gamble and find yourself a brimst-brother bobby. Or red chests with nothing. Or red chests with guppy items, or the pact, or red key.
What happens if you enter and get nothing? Just lost a gamble. You know that there are TREASURE ROOMS with just a penny lying in the ground? Or that there are shop with just one 5 cents items? Should those be removed too? They're just there to troll you and that's fine. And talking about trolls rooms, one of the layout of the devil room is a narrow path with a bad item first and a good item second, just to make you spend more health on a bad item.

And I was mostly talking about "Now it's devil deals for decent items sooner, or angel deals for better items later." part. Its sadly doesn't work like that most of the time. As you also pointed out in all of this text above. The gamble part is just too much for devil deals right now and that sucks. Thats why a lot of players completely ignore them now. Even with worst angel rooms you atleast end up with health (I'm even happy to see guardian angel in them btw).
Garbage shops, item rooms, secret rooms etc. also don't bother me. Wasting one key/bomb isn't that big of a deal(also they made not that much for trolling, but to somehow balance some rare good room layouts). While devil/angel chances can really ruin your run, cause while you can't do anything with bad shops, devil/angel route is something that can change a lot.

Also never seen treasure room like that. Does it really exist, or you were talking about item room with bunch of pick ups and a trinket? Still better then some items in it, lol

i feel that devil deals shouldnt be what a player goes for. they should be desperation deals if you realllllyyyy dont want to lose a run. devil deal items are fun but angel deals have so much more potential...just as well you got to work harder for them.
