The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

too hard to beat it lives in under 30 minutes
without unlocking any of the new items (which are made very well for everything else's current balancing) i genuinely don't understand how it's possible to beat it lives fast enough to fight hush, since pretty much every ab+ item is now useless. i've beat hush multiple times in the past, but only twice because i found him to be a boring boss, and now i pretty much can't get any of the new content i spent 30 bucks for, thanks edmund, really appreciate it :)

Idk why but this reminds me of back in flash isaac when you could use the dr fetus challenge to cheese unlocking everything

if you want to make it there, you have to leave some rooms unexplored on each floor.
if you obsessively try to reveal the whole map clear every single room (like me), it will eat up too much of your time.
I rarely ever make it there and I only do it once with each character for the unlocks.
.
.
an alternative method is to find the Mom Bomb (I think it's called Mama Mega) and hold onto it until womb 2. it will break open the pathway to hush.
it also works if you want to get into boss rush after mom's foot

On top of that try to backtrack as less as possible. You'd be suprised how much time you can save by not going back for hearts/coins that you left behind (something that you can notice while playing as The Lost)

Also, "i've beat hush multiple times in the past, but only twice", what?

And if you want to beat it only for the new floors, you can pick a good character like Azazel (tho it can be hard to kill Hush with him), or Isaac with d6 for better odds of getting good items from angel/devil deals.

i don't understand what's confusing about this, to unlock the new content you need to beat hush 3 times, many people like to immediately go "if you can't beat hush, good luck with the alt path," i was clarifying that i am capable of beating hush in case any of *those* people show up, and that my problem was with the arbitrary time requirement preventing me from accessing $30 worth of content.

If your only worried about unlocking the B sides then take Az, Cain, Judas or Sampson and reroll your runs (hold R) until you get a good anti tears item or one of the super strong dps items on the first floor. Then you can just race with that character from item room to boss each floor easy.

Bonus points for compass.

Dude, don't understand how you can't go to hush in time. You have 30 min to go to it. Press R to restart until a good start and you are at hush with spare time. Don't backtrack, stop clearing every room on the map.
Even in Repentance, with nerfed AB items or with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ items, i never miss hush once. Always at him between 15-25 min. Not that hard.

since release i have had one run that i'd call good, usually didn't lose in ab+, and i never get any items that actually help dps, just range up, and other items that aren't exactly killing anything fast at all. not to mention, you've got a lot of the repentance achievements, meaning you get the new items which are actually helpful for being fast.

idk mate i bought the game after repentance dropped and the only thing seperating me from Dead God is t.laz, seems more like a skill issue on your end

how exactly? if i don't get extremely lucky, my runs are all garbage since the game is now polluted with mediocre items and then the good items are locked behind alt path and tainted characters. once i get alt path i'll enjoy the game again, i've already 100%ed characters in ab+, so i'm capable of beating all of the pre-repentance bosses.

Honestly the game is not as hard as it seems. I can win around 80% of my runs, but at first it was really hard, because of all the changes and new stuff. If anything you can not rush for any time doors and use mama mega/dad's key to open boss rush/hush door. Yeah, it still depends on luck a lot, but it's an option

Don't feel too bad. 170 hours in and I've never seen Hush's floor or the Boss Rush, and I'm seriously doubting I ever will have the skill to. So you're not alone.

Install a mod that allows you to enter even when the time is up
Typisch Jun 20, 2021 @ 4:51pm
just play until you get mama mega if the time is such a big problem for you
Fuyuhiko Jun 20, 2021 @ 5:47pm
Its really not hard! i cant give any specific advice that hasnt been said here, but look at it this way: not every run is made to get to hush in time. keep playing, and youll get there without even trying. for example during daily runs, you are supposed to get to him EVEN AFTER GOING TO BOSS RUSH. and its possible. dont blame the game, just keep trying
