How to unlock FPS? From 60 to 144?

Is that even possible, I didnt find anything from the game files. It is really playable and smooth with 60 but it could always be better with more fps, right? I have 144hz monitor. Is there a way?

There is no way. Speed of the game is tied to fps, you would play the game 2x faster on 120 fps. You can test this by limiting fps to 30 and see how it plays.

This game is pretty old and wasn't programmed with the mindset of variable framerate at the time. They would have to basically reprogram the entire game to support other framerates, which isn't worth the effort.

Consoles like Series S has 120fps tho, but i don't think you guys want to start a new save

use Lossless Scaling, you can see the game on what fps you want.

Get the app lossless scaling from the steam store.
It is a upscaler and has frame generation.
I play Isaac with it at 120 fps.

If this game gets a sequel I hope the framerate is unlocked. There seems to be no chance of that happening though

Edmund has said he wants to develop Isaac 2 sometime after Mewgenics.

Won't happen for at least a few years though, as he also mentioned wanting to work on smaller projects for a while after Mewgenics before eventually going back to Isaac.
