Controller defaults to Player 2

So it hasn't happened any other time except today and it won't stop, but every time I launch the game now it makes my controller player 2. I've even unhooked my keyboard and the issue is still there. Is there a way to disable any input except the controller or any other fix?

I have the same problem with an xbox one x controller ( wireless with windows adapter ). Tried to restart the game 10 times. Tried removing the controller from windows and repairing, and restarted my computer. Restarting the computer has fixed this issue in the past.

Also, when i try to now play my run with a keyboard, It's just telling me it cant find any controller xD But if i connect my controller it ends up beeing 2 player lol

Same, Xbox Series X controller on Bluetooth. It also sometimes detects the controller as 2 separate controllers - in this case it's not that big a deal thankfully because you can unbind all keys from the second controller in the ini file.

here is the fix... end your run and quit the game... after this deinstall repentance dlc and reinstall!
