Controller Detected As Player 2?

This randomly started to occur, but now suddenly when I try playing with my controller the game assumes that I am trying to join as player 2. Is there a way to fix this?

EDIT: I even tried restarting my computer, but it still won't let me play with my controller. I can continue my game with the controller, but the moment it loads it assumes that player 1 is keyboard and controller is player 2 again.

Having the same issue, whatever I hit continue with is assumed to be player 2, and I cant do anything with player 1.

To be more specific, hitting continue with my PS4 controller doesnt work, hitting continue with my keyboard doesnt work.

Starting a new run using a different save file worked normally.

Does starting a new game fix it? I do not want to because it would waste my eden token.

Yes, I went to a new file and started a run, and my controller and keyboard worked normally. But its not working on the run that I exited for some reason

Atleast the keyboard is still working in your run XD. Nothing works on mine. Everything I try spawns a coop baby.

This is a stupid question but it is the only answer I can find: have you tried hitting the "change controller" option in the pause menu while you are playing? It works for me at least.

I try to do that, but I can't even access the pause menu XD. No input device works for player 1
