The only lead I've found is that it could be the case that steam is launching the game as a background process, and windows automatically closes it. No idea how to fix that if it's the case.
Best of luck, I'll reply if I find anything out.
Assuming your on windows 10, go to your graphics settings. Select "Browse", and locate Isaac on your computer (The default directory is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth", and select "isaac-ng.exe." ) Then select either "best performance" or "power saving" and one of them ought to work.
Hopefully this fixes the issue for you, too.
1) Go to your Windows search bar, and type in "Graphics settings". Select the app by that name.
2) You should see a relatively blank page, a few lines of text at the top. Notably, there should be a dropdown menu that says "Desktop App" and a grey box that says "Browse"
3) Click on Browse. It will open a file explorer. From here, locate the game file that you were able to find before, and then double click on it.
4) Isaac.exe will appear beneath the "Browse" button. Click on it, and the options "Options" and "Remove" will drop down.
5) Click on "Options" and a menu will pop up. This will show you "performance" or "power saving"
6) Pick one of them, launch Isaac, and if it doesn't work, try selecting the other and re-launching.
The reason why this worked for me is some weird thing with my Radeon graphics card. Whenever Isaac tried to launch using that one, I had that issue of it never launching. When I changed to "Power Saving" mode, my PC launched it with my Intel graphics card, and it launched fine.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Mine loads up straight into afterbirth+ even tho from the desktop icon shows rebirth. Either way sucks as we and others paid for the game or games. Hopefully someone knows of a fix unless this problem is new which i doubt.
Excuse my ignorance. I just assumed it would have them separately. So am i to assume the bundle is continuous thru one game bundled up and unlocks as you complete? Just confused as i played rebirth on the vita.
On the other hand, your Steam library only mentions Rebirth because it's the base game. The name of the game doesn't technically change because an expansion is installed, it's still the same game at its core.
