hes basically the lost of afterbirth, a really hard character.
Edit: I got the trinket that spawns money when I get hit and I WAS INVINCIBLE until I got gurdy and when he hit me my money decided to go and hide behind him so I couldn't get it and panicked and died.
- The trinket you are talking about is maybe the most powerful thing you can get for The Keeper. So, when you are playing as The Keeper you should always try to destroy the pots/urns that spawn in the first two floors to get that trinket.
- Do not gamble with the pills as if you get a Health Down pill, you'll be screwed.
- If you took a Health Down pill or took a one-heart-devil-deal, you need to find a health up pill so you can get you health back. Go for the Angel Rooms, BTW, not the devil rooms.
- Always leave some money on the ground so when you take a hit, you can go back to the money and heal yourself.
- If you beat Cathedral with Keeper, he will start with Wooden Nickel and it helps a lot.
- There's a challenge called Pong. If you beat it, you'll unlock an item called Greed's Gullet. For every 25 coins you get afterwards, you will get a health up. This is the only way to go above 2 coin hearts as the Keeper but I wouldn't count on it. It has a weird mechanic and I think I found that item only once in 200 hours of gameplay.
In short: Leave money on the ground. Try to find the Swallowed Penny trinket in the first two floors. Beat the Cathedral first, no matter what, to unlock the Wooden Nickel. Lastly: Git gud.
Good luck!
You will permanently lose the 2nd coin until you get a health up, so in general angel rooms are safer.
Similarly, since coins are hp the Keeper's main strength is exploiting sacrifice rooms for strong items. After 6 sacrifices (requiring only 5 or 6 coins) gives a chance at teleporting to angel room, 9 and 11 will spawn angels for key pieces, but do not go past 11 as 12 and beyond has a chance of teleportation to dark room
Edmund promised to rework this character in Repentance. So I suggest you to wait until this expansion pack comes out.
