You can use your holy mantle to stop the timer to continue if you so wish to , and don't want multiple waves to spawn, though it lowers the coin rewards it can help surviving the rooms.
Exit to the shop and reenter to have a new holy mantle up though.
Check every Cursed room.
Else there's not much to claim. It's possible. You will like items like Host Hat, Pyromaniac, and a Guppy can help a lot as well, since Guppys Collar can offer an infinite amount of tries, and 9 lives will offer 9. Avoid revives like , Lazarus Rags, Judas Shadow.
Check the 2 keepers in the shop as they can offer a Steamsale.
Dodging is they key to avoiding damage, so avoiding to dodge will lead to failure.
Lots of Damage and a low Tearrate are a great thing.
You might want to avoid to use the D4, though you could get absurd combinations.
I dont need the holy mantle to stop the timer. The lost doesnt take damage from hitting the button, but thank you for that information
How do i somehow get two steam sales?
They can drop from Keepers, and you could buy them.
Mr. Me is also a pretty good item since you can get items for free and with batteries for 5 or 3 coins.
My best tipp for any character is only buy items in sale (7coins) since you can buy twice the amount of items (unless you find an overpowered item like godhead or polyphemous)
I've been playing this game for a long time and i dont think ive ever seen the diplora item. Do i need to unlock it somehow
Also i dont think ill ever unlock godhead :(
You'll get godhead trust me The lost can be extremely fun to play even before you unlock holy mantel xDD just keep on trying and my best tipp for this game is play primarialy for fun and you'll achieve everything the game has to offer
it will probably take lots of restarts to do it though.
in greed mode, if i don't find a dps upgrade in that first treasure room, it's immedate restart for me.
thats the plan!
Still cant believe ive never found it tho
Ultra greed is pretty easy to dodge in the first phase when the coins and enemies aren't an issue as long as you keep your distance. In the second phase, assuming that you didn't take damage on the first, you will still have your holy mantle. If you aren't playing on greedier mode you really shouldn't waste your time doing it as the lost since it's likely going to take a bunch of tries and you'll just have to do it again on greedier mode.
In the second phase, make sure that you pay attention to see when the doors are about to open so that you don't get hit by the lasers. Don't cross the path of ultra greed when he's jumping either because he will drop bombs behind him. Just like in the first phase, stay far away from ultra greed and you should have a much easier time not taking damage. Try to get him to jump to the corners of the room so that you can go to the opposite side to put as much space in between you and him as possible.
It is possible to cheese ultra greed if you can manage to get gnawed leaf and an orbital familiar. Turning into stone while ultra greed is charging at you will cause him to infinitely charge into you, allowing your orbital familiar to take him out after a considerable amount of time. However, I wouldn't recommend this strategy between you're very unlikely to get the synergy and as a result are better off from a time perspective just using the above strategy.
I also see that people are telling you to try to break the shop in order to get infinite items. I would not recommend this strategy because as with the gnawed leaf strategy it is very unreliable and requires certain items in order to work. Even when you can get infinite items from the shop, after a while everything will just start turning into breakfast even when there are other items left in the pool, I assume to prevent breaking the game. Also, most of the incredibly powerful items that you can get are item room or deal with the devil exclusive, meaning that getting every item from the shop won't automatically mean a won run. Purchasing every item from the shop won't grant you invulnerability to attacks, so it is still possible to lose even when gaining insane amounts of damage due to the way that armor works on ultra greed. Therefore I would recommend the first strategy that I mentioned as it doesn't rely on as much RNG mechanics as trying to break the shop.
a tip for greedier endboss fight. in his second form, he will frequently jump towards you and drop exploding coins in his path behind him. if you have a habit of running underneath enemies when they jump, don't do it.
what you do is stay in a corner and wait for him to jump, then he will jump towards you and then you run to another corner.
like, if he is up and to the right of you, go to the SW corner, wait for him to jump, then run to the right and go to the SE corner, then when he jumps again to the right to get at you, run up towards the NE corner, then NW then SW etc. . .
of course, you still have to shoot him, and he doesn't always jump, but you can sort of manipulate his ai this way.
another trick is. . .blank card + chaos card.
or blank card+ car battery + algiz rune.
or breaking the shop (in a multitude of ways that have probably been described many times in earlier threads) to get every passive item in the game
back when I did it, you had to beat it on both normal AND hard. and if you beat it on hard first, it did not unlock the reward for normal and still had to go back and do it on normal.
so, if it has indeed, been patched , then disregard the first paragraph of my previous post..
I apologize if I came off as condescending. I just wanted to let the op know that it has in fact been patched in case he gets the wrong idea that he has to beat it twice as that could cause him a lot of wasted effort and time.
