rubber cement? where you at homeboy

anyone else having serious trouble getting the rubber cement? i know it kind of a rare item but i havent encounterd it once since booster pack 5 is added.

It is rare, yes. I farmed them for the achievement via Cain & greed mode, took half an hour and seems acceptable although I don't know if that was lucky or not.

Pick Isaac with d6

Walk into the free item room, walk into the shop. If reroll machine then bomb it, if still no rubber then d6 in the shop. Then hold R to restart and repeat.

If rubber cement is in shop play until you can afford it, buy it and then R

i have bin trying that. for quite some now while farming other achievements. havent seen it a single time! quite frustrating. haha

Its pretty uncommon. If a first floor start has breaking potential it may be worth playing it on the chance to buy up every item to hopefully get rubber cement. Like a first floor steam sale, d20, diamonds card/jera, cracked dice trinket, d100, ect.

Cain in greed mode is the fastest way to farm this. Though a bit tedious. I only did it to get the final 2 I needed.

Why would cain be faster than isaac.

Isaac can mill most shops twice. So if a shop has 3 items and a reroll machine thats potentially 10 items including the treasure room.

i doubt it makes any difference tbh. rubber cement is so rare i even found godhead more times. i've also unlocked every achievement now while finding rubber cement 1 time. i've bin restarting with isaac and cain for the last hour, no luck with any character.

Cool, to anyone who is struggling with this, forget isaac and cain. pick the lost and just keep rerolling yourself untill you reroll into rubber cement. it counts. took me 10 minutes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't rubber cement absent from the greed mode shop's item pool? It'd be faster to just ignore the shop and run into both item rooms.

Using the lost sounds like a good method too.

I have found rubber cement once in the greed shop item pool, zero times in the treasure rooms though. but maybe thats just my bad luck. the lost method worked best for me.

I ended up doing a few lost runs. The D4 is a good tool to get see almost every item in the game once per run.

Just rush to the first devil deal, take whatever it is, reroll and hope for extra lives or brimstone or something to help get to the finish (might take a few rerolls).

Can also use isaac with the D6 to hope for breaking if you don't like playing as the lost. D6 increases your chances of finding it naturally anyway even if you don't find breaking.

I'm actually experiencing the opposite. I've found Rubber Cement to be a lot more common since BP5 came out. I've actually found it about 10 times now... but I've been playing all three of my saves, so I haven't got the achievement on any of them yet.
I haven't even been restarting to find it, it's just showing up, so... maybe stop restarting? It's probably pretty hard to find on the first floor, but I've found it all over the place recently. I think they upped the odds on the item.

I'd advise just playing normally and letting it find you.

Also, @Sonic_RocketPotatoL62, it is in Greed Mode, and has always been. I actually just got it in Greed today. Note that it was in the Gold Treasure Room, not the free Silver one, and I found it on the 3rd or 4th Floor, not the 1st.
