The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Smoother FPS help
Quick and to the point:

Finally downloaded AB+, but at certain times, the FPS can chug badly.(Which is probably from a combination of downloading Mods, and just having a normal Laptop from like, 2014-ish.)

Even though I barley don't have any extra games installed, any other tips to make it run smoother? (Yes, I should get a Gaming PC, but the money is not with me now.)

Backround tasks maybe, try closing those. That's about it really, otherwise run in windowed or turn off filter.

Try deleting some mods, go into:
This PC > (C:) > Users > ____ > Documents > My Games > Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods
Don't go onto documents on the file explorer start up screen, it wont show afterbirth+ mods

Did you already disable VSync in the config file? I'm not calling it a magic fix but I generally see improved results when I turn it off and my friend had to do it for this to play the game properly, he had lag especially when monstro jumped, is it the same for you?

Anyway for further instructions (windows 10 at least) I went to file explorer > documents > my games > binding of isaac afterbirth+ > options. From the text document find vsync and change the value to 0 for off and 1 will turn it back on, if you do this don't forget to save (not save as) the document after!

Nope. Still a problem. :(

Speaking of, I think its at its worst when you drop a bomb where theres a slight slowdown.
And when Mom and It lives dies in an explosion of blood.

Go to the appadministrator (I'm not sure of the name) by right clicking in the taskbar and selecting it. Right click in the game and select go to details. Again, right click in the game, establish prioriti, high. This allowed me to play enter the gungeon

Well only other thing I can think of is if you're on Nvidia to go into 3D settings (nvidia control panel) and find BoI.exe and then go to the properties, try switching the processor if possible as some steam games will naturally just go to the stock and run slower there. You'll find a variety of other functions to tinker with but I'll leave that to your discretion.

Hopefully you get this resolved and you can enjoy BoI the way you want =]
