I once got Soy Milk and immediately afterwards the Odd Mushroom, both reduce your damage greatly in exchange for very frequent tears. But since Soy Milk already maxes out your tears stat, the only thing Odd Mushroom does is, lower your damage even more.

Great synergy is Eyeball tears + Jacob's Ladder. Even better if you have penetrative / spectral shots. It will be lightning everywhere.

Some worst: Soy Milk + Number One; Soy Milk + Brimstone; Mom's Knife + Brimstone; Mom's Knife + Ludo
