The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Mr.Mhanzo Aug 13, 2018 @ 3:40pm
[[[FIXED]]] ERROR "Save data path C:\Users\[my name]/Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+/ is not a writable directory"
The game gives me this error, than "Save data path C:\Users\[my name]/Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods/ is not a writable directory", the game window opens and after a while it crashes

Little note: Both the Folders (Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ and Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods) do not even exist

Possibble Fix? I tried many of the community

It says you don't actually own the game on steam (next to your name). I'm 99% sure this is the problem, some anti-piracy.

You're game is not allowed to create files, that's why it refers to non-existing folders: it tries to create them, hits a wall, so they're not created.

Potential fixes include running the game/Steam as an administrator or creating exceptions for them in your antivirus, which most likely decided to block the game for some reason. Not the first time an antivirus would block this game out of paranoia (although I'll admit the game creates a folder which will contain script files, it is technically a security risk from an antivirus point of view).

it si probably too late, but just backup this file and delete this folder then start the game then move your files back.
