Hello. I just want to add a comment to this, since I finally found out how to make Binding of Isaac stop starting up with a black screen after 3 weeks of messing around. This is for if you have Nvidia.
1. Right-click on your desktop background and go to NVidia Control Panel.
2. Click the left-side tab that says "Manage 3D Settings".
3. Under the Program Settings tab, under "Seleect a Program to Customize, select Binding of Isaac (If it's not on the list, click "Add" and add in Binding of Isaac).
4. Under "Select Preferred Graphics Processor", select Integrated Graphics.
5. Click Apply and test the game.
I don't know if this works for anyone else, but it worked for me and I wouldn't want anyone else going through hell trying to find the solution like I did. Good luck~
After searching through like 5 threads and trying everything you originally did, this finally worked. Thank you so much!
i don't have "Select Preferred Graphics Processor" as an option :(
Markyay you may not have Nvidia?
But if you find a solution, share it here ! Some people are in the same situation than you
