Can't unlock anything

Hello everyone, i'm having a big issue with my game and i need your help.

I just bought Binding of Isaac and noticed i couldn't unlock anything in the game. For example, i made 3 devil deals on one floor, and i didn't get azazel at the end of the run.

I tried to figure out why and noticed i can't access to the "secrets" tab. The game also tells me i didn't discover any monster or item.

People on the forums seemed to talk about a flashachievements.exe file, but i can't find it in my folders. I tried to check up my files with steam, uninstall and install the game back, that didn't solve my problem.

Do you guys have an idea on how to proceed ? Or should i just ask for a refund for not having a complete game ?

Do you have any mods enabled? they block ALL achievement unlocks until you beat mums heart once. You also cannot unlock achievements on seeded runs.

Make sure that you have mods disabled if you own afterbirth + UNTIL you have beaten the heart once :).

Indeed, i have a MOD activated, but as i've seen a streamer using it and still having his achievments unlocked, i didn't think that would be a problem (item description MOD).

I'll check this out by trying a run and see if i can unlock something

I had to disable that mod and all my other graphical mods when starting a new save file otherwise nothing unlocked for me either until i beat that boss once. Its a bit annoying

That worked, i just unlocked Monstro's tooth !

Happy to hear it! Your mods will 100% work once the heart is killed. Enjoy the game :)

Hey, I know that your problem was solved like literally 4 years ago but uuh I have the same issue. I reinstalled repentance because it broke, and all my progress was deleted. I was fine with that until I tried playing as Isaac. I killed mother, but I haven't unlocked a single thing. I checked if I have any mods enabled but I don't. I don't exactly know what happened and why this is happening but if someone could send a reply that would be cool.

i cant unlock the family man challenge i beat mom and the heart and gotten the key pieces and beat mega satan im on mac so i cant get a save editor for AB+ any idea on how to unlock it?

im playing on pc but and have mod enable but i beated moms heart and for some part of the run i got some unlock but i didnt get the others

The first two things that come to my mind are Clicker and Victory Laps.

Clicker is an active item that turns you into another character.
When you would get a mark, you get it for the character you are at that moment, not your starting one. So if you turned into a character who already had the marks you tried to get later in the run, you wouldn't get additional marks at all, so no corresponding unlock.
The same logic applies to any "extra life" item that turns you into another character, such as Ankh, Judas' Shadow, Lazarus' Rags...

Victory Laps are a mechanic that lets you continue a run after killing the Lamb and answering "yes" to the question that pops up at that moment. You're sent back to floor 1 with all your current items.
You can't unlock anything during Victory Laps. To be more precise, the only things that can be unlocked during VLs are awarded for doing several VLs in a row (kill the Lamb, start the VL, kill the Lamb again, repeat). The last such unlock is Rerun.
