Dr Fetus & Brimstone :(

Had a great run brewing until I picked up Dr Fetus. Then I thought I was saved when I picked up Brimstone for 2 red hearts. Wrong, it just made some of the f'ing bombs red.

Once you get Dr Fetus is there a way to get rid of it or are you then stuck with it for the rest of the run?

I once got Fetus + Brimstone. I could still use Brimstone, I was just shooting bombs while charging it.
