Forgotten & extra card/pill space

As of the recent addition, the Forgotten is the newest playable character. While he is a blast to play, I've taken notice of something. If you were to obtain an item that would create extra card/pill room (Like starter deck) you can't rotate between them, as attempting to would use activate the Forgotten's main ability. You can still drop them by holding them down, but you can't rotate between them. Is this just a minor overlook by the devs, or am I forgetting something?

You need to double-tap control to swap items. Somebody had to tell me, I didn't figure it out myself.

So like if I got brimestone will it work ? or the forgotten is unable to change his melee weapon and all that stuff will go to his soul ?
do all passive stat increases work for both of them or for whoever picks it up ?

The melee weapon hits 3 times instantly in teh most badass intense animation ever
