The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

I cant decide between this and enter the gungeon
I want an easier, shorter gameplay type game to just do a couple runs when i have a 30-40 minute break, i like the look of isaac more, but i also love 100%ing games, and this one looks like it would take 1000+ hours, what do you guys think?

You can save after every floor in Enter the Gungeon, so the time limit thing isn't that big of an issue there. Enter the Gungeon is also a lot more difficult in my opinion (It's pretty skilled based and less RNG based like Isaac)

I personally prefer Isaac though and it takes between 150 - 300 hours to complete everything (Even less if you're good)

An Isaac run usually lasts 20-40 minutes while Gungeon's runs are almost always 1 hour. Gungeon is more about resource management through ammo and health, more for skill and is less about luck. Isaac is more about learning the game as you go and understanding mechanics as you constantly unlock new content.

The time it would reasonably take for all achievements (secrets) if you're a new player on Isaac is 200 hrs. Gungeon all unlockables (some aren't achievements) is a little less, but the game's secrets are more dependent on skill and sheer luck in some cases.

Isaac has undeniably more content and uses it better than EtG: items, monsters, playable characters, bosses, unlockable secret levels and room layouts. EtG has more skill-rewarding gameplay and focuses on core mechanics like resource management and dodging.

Isaac can be luck dependent and critical about how runs can die due to extremely bad luck. Isaac can be frustrating to 100%. EtG is an extremely draining game because it has so much, abhorrent downtime between action. You can suddenly drop EtG in the middle of a run because of how boring it can get.

isaac runs usually last around 20-40 minutes... sometimes up to an hour depending on lots of things i'd rather not spoil. there are tons to unlock and over 300+ hours worth of content.

for me, both games can someimte be reliant on luck. You'll die xtremelly fast if you dont get good items in isaac and Etg if you dont get good weapons. But if you want to play a game in short bursts, pick isaac. In Isaac you can qquit in the middle of the run and it would stil save compared to Etg where you can only save once you complete a floor.

For replability, isaac takes the cake since you can unlock so many items and see how they synergize with each other. Etg also has many weapons, but you unlock them by buying them. In terms of content, isaac has more, but it will take you longer to complete the game since items are unlocked by completing challenges or runs etc...

Hope this helped:overkill_happy:

They're different things for different people, but personally I find the binding of isaac more fun.
Enter the gungeon is more skill based and you buy stuff instead of unlocking them with requirements.

enter the gungeon definitely has a higher learning curve, making it more difficult than the binding of isaac. runs in the binding of isaac last 40-60+ minutes and theres loads of items and enemies, but its entirely luck based (basically praying to RNGesus whenever i go into a game). Enter the gungeon is definitely way more skill and resource management based, meaning that you could get screwd really easy, but not saying that cant happen in TBoI either. Imo, TBoI is more fun to play, but enter the gungeon is for when you're feeling bored of luck based screwage and rather skill based screwage (I have both for both experiences).

Don´t do ETG. Sireously don´t take the hype train. Look at the global achievements in both of the games and think about real good. You will see how many people are able to play the game. And you like to play the game.... right!

This game is a little hard to master, but if you're not going for 100% it's a pretty easy game compared to enter the gungeon. This has more items and decisions and ♥♥♥♥(really!) , while EtG is more bullet hell-ish.

Enter the Gungeon is the very first Switch game that I regret owning. It is far more skill based than Issac is, and at least for me, the repeating runs with the same character tend to feel very similar due to the lower number of items. It's a game that I even find boring to watch others play when I try to look at videos to pick up tips.

There's still some luck involved, but due to my inability to get past difficult bosses and stages, I feel as if most of the fun in Gungeon is forever locked away from me.

With Issac, due to the increased number of items and decision making, even when I'm doing poorly I at least get some amusement out of the game.

Gungeon isn't a bad game, it's just a TERRIBLE game for me specifically. I need more than just another challenging run with the same character to keep me interested in that kind of slog, and Gungeon just doesn't deliver as many funny descriptions or interactions of powers as Issac does.

Now, that said, if you hate poop and disgusting body function humor, consider religion off limits for making fun of or pointing at the awful features of, or really hate that RNG can sometimes make you a complete god, Issac may not be for you.
