That makes zero sense though, because all you would have to do in order to ameliorate the situation would be make the final boss more difficult, yet possible to spawn every time.
I think he's difficult enough, and should spawn every time. The fact he doesn't is just stupid.
It's frustrating seeing an amazing game have some really bad calls.
If portal wasn't spawning at all and only after Hush fight, what was your opinion then? Devs just gave you possible fight if you didn't make it in time, they could've give you nothing at all. It's the same if you've complained about not giving you route to the sheol after beating the chest. The only difference in it just a 30 minutes timer, that again, not a game problem.
Mega Satan works that way too, with bad RNG you're getting only devil's deals all the time and can't obtain 2 key pieces, but you still can use some other items (like dad's key) for opening the door. Not like thats a big problem for some reason.
Chest, Dark Room, Mega Satan, Delirium - all being endgoals.
Boss Rush - see what you can choose from, if there's an item that makes you stronger, go for it.
Hush - no reasonto visit the Hush after getting the unlock, because it's harder than the rest of the bosses (except for Delirium), and it's not an endgame, so they had to give the player a reason to go through the Hush path again.
So the current path to Delerium forces a player to play through bad content to get to the content they actually want.
That's real, real dumb.
