blank card disappears?

I noticed a few times in some recent runs, when I was trying to get the last couple of items for my collection, to fill in all the "?"s

I was struggling to force the game to drop them. (I don't "need" to do this anymore, since I got all the collection items but I still sometimes like to break the game for fun)


my main method has always been to "break the game" with shenanigans like using blank card + jera to generate infinite batteries and then use the batteries with blank card + perthro to exhaust the item pool


here's the thing, ltely, whenever I do this, it lets me get away with it for a while and then suddenly without warning, my blank card just vanishes.

the game just takes it away from me.


I've also had this happen to my d20 on gree runs when I break the game with rerolling shenanigans, the d20 will suddenly get taken from me without warning.

is this some sort of new update they did to punish players for breaking the game?

Blank Card can vanish on certain circumstances.

MissingNo item will force a full-run reroll if picked up, and consume Blank Card in the process.
Careless things like accidentally using Perthro/Black Rune/Dice Shard/Black Rune on the Blank Card can happen too. Many a time sad stories of accidentally rerolling Blank Card away.

Using the ? Card with blank card will also delete both and tp you to an error room.

I was aware of all those, this was a new thing. . .
it happens in greed mode, like, I'll be messing with the d20, rerolling the main room and getting pretty much unlimited coins.

and then I'll have the blank card in the shop room

and as i'm going back and forth, I'll be switching between them to do perthro

and then I pick up the d20 back up and instead of the blank card dropping onto the pedestal, it just disappears.

it has happened in the reverse, where the d20 diasppears instead.



it's actually only happened about 3 times to me and doesn't happen every time, but when it does, I'm left scratching my head like wtf is this?

I've never lost the blank card, but I've lost other combo components. Wasn't sure if it was a mistake on my part or if the game was actually removing them.

I dunno...mybe it was just a glitch because too many items were in the room.

I had like, 50 items in there when it happened
