Unlocking the lost

Can i still use the old method or do i have to find the poster?

kill yourself in the sacrifice room as isaac and you respawn as the lost and unlck him for goodsees. but best to also have like.... 800 coins or something in the greed machine so he starts with the holy mantle...

ironically, for me it was already the case and i hadnt unlocked that, but since the 5th booster pack the holy mantle isnt with the lost anymore...

and double ironic the only thing i hadnt done for the lost was greedier mode

The 4(death method is for Rebirth only, with no DLC.
If you ahve AB (or AB+) installed, the only way to unlock it is by using the Missing Poster.

Install a mod then use the console (` and ~ key, next to 1) to spawn in missing poster (Giveitem t23) then go die in a sacrifice room
Console for some reason does not deny achievements, so its as easy as installing like a music mod

No, you have to be holding the Missing Poster to unlock The Lost while anheroing in sacrifice room

No, you have to be holding the Missing Poster to unlock The Lost while anheroing in sacrifice room

I assume uninstalling the DLC won't allow me to do the old method either?

You could do that, but the game uses different save files for each version. After reinstalling the DLC, the Lost wouldn't be unlocked anymore. And if you never played Rebirth alone, you'd have to play on an empty save.
You could force the game to read your achievements to unlock stuff back though (pressing alt+f2 in the stats menu).

According to Naze no, unless you're fine with playing Rebirth for the rest of the time.

I think you can uninstall the DLC to do the old method, but the easiest way is the method I said

The easiest way would be to just get the achievement using the console instead of giving yourself the missing poster though. :P

tfw I unlocked the lost in my first save, but when I wanted to start a second save file I found out the changes to unlocking the lost.
why they would make you reliant on item drops is beyond me
