Hi guys! Devil deal question

so what are the conditions that allow you to sometimes survive when you make a deal with the devil that costs more hearts than you have? For example is there any time you can have 1 heart only and buy an item that costs 1 or two hearts and then end up wit 1 soul heart somehow and live even though you didn't start with a soul heart?

kindof a weird question but basically, can you ever survive if you buy something in a devil deal that uses all hearts you have? (including soul hearts black hearts)

As long as you have any hearts, you stay alive. Most Devil Deals cost red hearts, but if you're out of reds it'll cost silver hearts (faith). Some items that the Devil offers actually give faith or evil hearts, so you can survive if you give up your last heart to gain some back.

Yes. Ceremonial robe, for one, gives you 3 black hearts. Trading away all your health for the robe won't kill you.

Just saying, you're referring to blue/soul and black hearts. Just to prevent future confusion :)

I'd also like to add:
If you make a deal and it removes all your health, and in the time that you're doing the animation run and pick a black or blue heart from the ground you will still survive.

if you havent any soul/dark hearts or your bought item isnt guves faith/evil up (any,hearts) you will die

Also, if you pick up an item that takes all your health and gives you some back (like Abaddon, for instance) and you get hit during the pickup animation you will die.
