- Use different characters. For each character, the chance for the Greed Machine to jam is stored separately, and increases as you insert coins into the machine with that character. Lilith and Azazel are very good bets for this (but I'd advise against using Azazel in Greedier mode).
- Make sure you've got something like a 2 of Diamonds card as you enter the fight. As soon as you drop to 49 coins, use it: and blammo, you've got another 49 coins to possibly stuff into that thing. Even better if you've got any of Tarot Cloth, Blank Card (with Car Battery: even better) or a Jera rune you've also managed to sneak in there. I once got all of them in a run (barring Jera), and my machine count went up by 100+.
- Play on Greedier mode. This might sound counter-intuitive, but hear me out:
Hope this helps: good luck on filling up the machine! In the second phase, a common tactic (I think, as it's fairly easy to pull off and is decently time-efficient if you've got some OK damage) is to kite Ultra Greedier into the corners by making him use his stomping attack (his impromptu The Cage stomp). When he jumps from corner to corner, he drops explosive coins, which in turn have a chance to spawn Pennies, Nickels or Dimes. You can then pick those up in the next corner-to-corner sweep, bolstering your coin count.
