Rebirth keeps crashing on startup

I wanted to install Antibirth, so I removed the two DLCs so I could play just the base game again. However, whenever I click play, the game crashes on startup. I haven't even installed Antibirth yet, I just uninstalled the two DLCs. I reinstalled them to check if anything had gotten permanently messed up, and the game runs fine when both of them are installed. For some reason it only crashes when I play the base game.

I've tried disabling the Steam overlay, and the Discord overlay was disabled to begin with. I know there have been issues with that in the past but that's not the problem here. It's definitely not mods since it only crashes when Afterbirth+ isn't even installed, and I haven't even installed Antibirth yet. I'm at a loss, has anyone else faced this and does anyone have a solution?

Don't know if I can help you all the way through until it's fixed, not sure that's your issue, but the first thing to do is to make sure there's no file the game might read as modded incorrectly.
Go there (adapt to wherever you installed Steam):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth\resources
Delete everything except the "packed" folder.
Anything else will be considered as modded files by the game (that's where Rebirth/Afterbirth modded files have to be installed), and it will try to load them. If they're incompatible with pure-Rebirth for whatever reason the game will crash. Uninstalling/reinstalling the game doesn't affect those files, Steam doesn't recognize them so it doesn't touch them at all (meaning they're still here once the game is reinstalled).

Again, no guarantee that's your issue. But it's definitely something you should check before trying anything else.

That fixed it, thank you so much! I've been trying to find some way to fix this for a couple days now.

To anyone who has a problem with Antibirth crashing the game once you install it, (which happened to me just now) install it to a folder on your desktop. That fixed it for me.
