i cant unlock characters ;~;

idk why i cant, but i always try but it doesnt happen

List of things that prevent all kind of progress:
- Seeds (except a few special ones)
- Challenges (except for their reward obviously).
- Daily Runs.
- Reruns and Victory Laps.
- Any active mod from the mod menu until the Womb/Utero 2 floor boss is killed once on that save (no matter what they do, other saves are irrelevant).
- Paranoid antivirus programs preventing the game from creating/editing its save file.

Which character then? Are you sure you understand its requirement?
Note: for "two floors [condition]" characters, it seems Basement 1 (or any alternative floor) doesn't count.

Sorry to insist, but please make absolutely sure you're not in any case from the list I posted earlier. Check it carefully. Especially, do not use seeds and disable all mods if any is installed (most common mistakes for new players).

If you have the little trophy barred when you play it means you can't unlock anything.

im having the same problem i dont have mods installed i have avg with i turnd of and it still dint work

Bit late to the party I guess, but I had this problem on repentance, and I found out it does this if you enable the debug console as well (as well as the other things listed)

In other words, if you are on repentance, have the console enabled, and nothing seems to work, try turning off the debug console in the files (the same way you activated it)

if you have any questions, leave them here, and I can provide a much more detailed explanation

Don't worry, the updated list I post every now and then has a line mentioning the debug console.

Just make sure the mods are COMPLETELY off, in every possible way. If it still doesn't work, then we got a problem, but I'm sure you just forgot a mod or two.
