Please remove the teleport effect on cursed eye
It seems completely unecessary, and makes it worse to have than to go without.

There are quite a few items that are worse to have than not to have. It's just the way the game is. There can't be only good things. Risk and reward (e.g. when re-rolling your items).

You don't have to pick it up, after all.

This, also Black Candle removes the effect.

Also, Cursed Eye is a straight DPS down.

I still think the constant thread of having to do rooms over, particurlary bosses, not only makes the item bad, but basically a game ruiner if you pick it up. Down sides isnt the same as being unfun to pick up. Also i can hardly recall an item, which has a unrelevant downside to such an extent as this one has.

Don't pick it up then? Cursed Eye is ♥♥♥♥ in any circumstance and never worth picking up.

I agree. So don't pick it up.

Also, be skillful enough that you don't get hit while charging and you won't get teleported. Difficult, sure. Impossible? No.

Look, I understand where you are coming from but we have these threads all the time. If everything someone doesn't like is removed there will be no game left. The only character will be Azazel and the only item will be Brimstone... both of which will promptly be removed after someone complains that they are too easy.

If you really really can't stand the Cursed Eye you can easily mod it out (or remove the teleport effect) once Afterbirth+ hits.

Never, really? You have to pick it up once if you want PG (and its upgrades)! :P

If you really want to pick it up in a run, just don't get hit while charging, you won't be teleported. Problem is solved! :D

actually cursed eye is a really great item for good speedrunners, it has a purpose....

issue: if you get hit while recharging you get teleported
solution : get good enough to choose when to get teleported

it'll help you.. because you are not good with this item doesn't mean the item is garbage

i'm not saying you are bad, what i'm saying is you are bad with this item. Practice makes perfect so you take it and practice or you stop complaining :)

OP never said he was a speed runner.

So never get hit unless you intend to?

That's an absurd suggestion. Even top-tier Isaac players can't always avoid getting hit.

Doesn't mean the item is good, either.

That's incredibly patronizing, and you're not nearly knowledgable enough about Isaac to be talking that way.

Because of the teleport effect + DPS down, Cursed Eye is objectively one of the worst items in the game.

You know, I kinda cheated around Curse of the Tower because I found it on Dark Room and picked it up after I defeated the Lamb. :dip:

I've won Mega Satan runs with Cursed Eye picked up early.. The key is having high enough Tears stat and being smart about not constantly charging when it's unnecessary. And, of course, don't take many hits.

Like others have said, don't pick it up in the early game if you're not sure what your end game synergies will be, but it's actually pretty handy burst damage wise in particular situations.

I have to agree with others that are mentioning the fact that some pickups really need downsides in addition to being interesting, or else the game becomes way too easy.

This. All of this. The item is great, with the right build and in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

And yeah, it may seem like an unfun and unfair item to be stuck with, but this is a rogue-like game, which means there is no such thing as "fair" here and everyone has their own idea of fun. :P

They have items like this, to make you afraid to pick up items when you have a curse and they are shown up as a "?", which means, you are risking ruining the run if you pick up an unknown item. It's an item I learned to never take ever again. I think my biggest problem with it, is that there are sooooo many little round white objects you pick up, that it can be hard to tell which round white object your looking at.
