wow the nerf hammer is real
guess you guys got what you wanted, stone fatties and portals are pretty trivial now. its funny how a game known for being hard is getting so many complaints and bending over backwards to cater to the casuals. good thing all games dont do this like Dark Souls, oh wait.... glares at Dark Souls 2

They will get exhausted now after following you.

I find that quite charming.

Wait, seriously? Stone fatties were annoying, but i don't see the point of nerfing them...
I could understand about how portal was "way too strong" when AB+ was just release, but now, they are more than correct.

...We really DON'T need this being nerf anymore, we just need the bugs to be fixed..

Don't think people were asking for Stone Fatties to be nerfed. I think they had to do the pause in their running cause of it being pretty much impossible for a character like The Keeper, with his very low fire rate, to actually hit enemies with those guys chasing so close. A lot of the nerfs came via Edmund himself once he truly got a hand on the game in its final form and via streamer feedback.

If you ask me the nerfs are needed with a lot of the gameplay. As you can see most of the concepts in the DLC have been hastily included with little to no proper play testing by actual long term boi players. Portals were one of those concepts, and really needed reworking. The idea was not properly implemented from the get go, which was made obvious via dev tweets. Made rooms look as if you were playing Path of Exile.

Just look at all the things they need to fix on top of properly balancing aspects of the new dlc

The portals in various room combos and bad luck were creating situations where it was not possible to actually damage the portal. Also the fatties needed their speed lowered more than anything.

The problem is that a lot of this stuff was taken from mods and not properly tested or replicated.

It wasn't challenging, it was frustrating

Stone Fatties were fine as they were, but perhaps should have been either rare in the Basement floors or simply couldn't appear until later where they wouldn't be so annoying. They didn't usually make things harder, but a damn pain when you can't hit a fly because it's between three or four stone fatties.

As for void portals, I think they should have simply been less common. Perhaps slowly becoming more common as you go. They're practically meaningless now sadly...

There's a difference between "Hard" and "Oh come on, really?"

While i agree, that Portals where nerfed a bit too hard, the new Stone Fatties provide a good balance. When a puny little Fly got stuck between 4 Stone Fatties pre-balancing, you might as well hit R.

Alot of new content really was just the definition of artifical difficulty with another chunk being just plain BS. There are so many rooms now, where you get hit as soon as you enter, which isn't, what i call "hard". And don't even get me started on Greedier's Womb floor...

AB+ is barely any more actually difficult, than AB was.

Good points, I must admit. I do enjoy that the fatties get tired now, and I wouldn't want that removed just because it's so damn charming. I guess I'm personally just a bit nostalgic for the times when Isaac used to feel brutal. I sometimes wonder if it's just because we've all played this game so much that it feels so easy; whenever I get a friend to play that hasn't played this game before, they struggle to even get to mom every single time just like I used to when I first started.

Ah well, despite any complaints I might have with AB+ I still enjoy it a lot and I think it'll get even better once the patches remove annoying bugs and we start getting our monthly DLC packs. :steamhappy:
