There's also a 100% chance to get access to the void by killing Hush.
Once it's unlocked, you can get a portal to the Void on any main boss, but it's random.
Well, that or maybe one just has to learn where it spawns. Whatever the case, for I only saw it spawn and avoided once outside of the set spawnpoint after le Hush, it really should not be that difficult.
and somehow I kinda doubt that it is set to spawn on the player. May be the Dunning–Kruger effect at work though and it ain't super basic common developer sense to not deliberately spawn the portal on the player. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (even though narratively it might make sense~ again thou' this is primarily a game)
