Well, I guess Season 9 of Diablo 3 starts Friday. *sigh*
Everything else is just extra stuff they threw in.
Unless you planned to make mods, there wasn't really anything to get hyped about.
portals are fine too, they just force you to rethink your enemy priority, i haven't seen any of the particularly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ layouts featuring them yet though.
i saw one of the mimics before and i'm glad that got added, where's the fun in a mimic if you know it's a mimic beforehand, that ♥♥♥♥ should jump up and bite you in half, glad it actually got added, i hoped we'd have proper ones, would be cool to have a mimic boss too.
It was advertized first as: New items, new mode, new final floor, new new character, oh and mod tools and updates. :D
I don't think I am wrong to be disappointed in four of the five things put forth in the new dlc and uninterested in the fifth.
If they had delivered on the new items, greedier mode, final floor, and character actually being interesting (as well as not actively killing the gameplay I currently love, which they kinda did), I would have been happy, even completely not utilizing the mod capabilities (which I won't).
In fact, in their blog post talking about the features list, mod tools were a *footnote* at the end of the features list and not even actually part of the list. If it was mostly a modding tools DLC, that is not how you advertize it and I would not have paid $6 for that.
In case you wonder what I mean: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/143043162269/lets-get-to-it
That is not the run down of a "mod dlc" and "if you don't mod, why get excited?" That is a rundown which should have been as interesting as a slightly smaller afterbirth and it just isn't.
Straight from the horse's mouth: "so i took a vacation from isaac and reddit for a while (aside from AB+ testing) but i took a gander and it seems like a lot of you think Afterbirth+ is just going to be some dev tools for you to play with… well… YOU, ARE, WRONG!"
Soooooo ... I guess Modding before Afterbirth+ wasn't a thing then ?
*cough* antibirth *cough*
Hey, maybe there will be mods to fix all of that.
Haha.
Ha......
The community will fix it seems like a poor way to treat people who have eagerly supported this game from the time it came out.
