The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Afterbirth + is broken or a scam
If I purchase an expansion or dlc and have all the listed requirements and my game won't load anymore, that's by definition broken. If it had listed afterbirth as a requirement on the store page before I purchased it, that would be another thing entirely. And a blog post or tweet on another website entirely doesn't count. I don't purchase my games from the developer's website; I'm doing it through Steam, which does not have that information. Edit: I have since received a refund, the store page has been corrected, and I have repurchased at a later date through the bundle made available.

i do get your point and all
and that definitely should've been addressed
but with a name like afterbirth + it should be obvious

Like I said, I didn't purchase the game from their website. It should have that information in the steam page.

go to the Binding of Isaac Reddit, pretty sure that there's a fix for the "game won't load" problem under the Megathread (not sure tho)

Edit: that's not the problem at hand. Whoops

It should be obvious that a dev would sell a DLC to a DLC? How far down the rabbit hole are we going with this? Why can't the content have been seperated out like most DLC works?

no clue. they should've just made this dlc something like "stillbirth" or something along the lines of that instead of a dlc on a dlc.

Again, it was called AFTERBIRTH + for a reason.

They didn't patch Binding of Isaac; the DLC does. That means that in order for you to get a patch to something from Afterbirth, you gotta get the DLC. In order for that patch to take place, you gotta have Afterbirth (or it would just ruin everything).

Why didn't Ed just patch it? I don't know. But this is what happened.
I gotta ask the logical question here.

Why buy one and not the other? At the very least, why not buy the regular Afterbirth first if you're only going to buy one expansion?

Exactly! If you don't have Afterbirth, then Afterbirth is literally a buck more, and you get more bang for said buck.
Hello Elliot Jan 3, 2017 @ 5:56pm
Yo guys i bought afterbirth + and it said nowhere on steam we should have afterbirth to play it.

If we really had to buy afterbirth, to play A+ why isn't there any package with afterbirth and A+ ?

This is just scam

Because I wanted to get the mod support. Also, some of the descriptive material implied that it had some of the content of Afterbirth included. My budget only had the money for the one game/dlc and i was going to wait til the next sale to get regular AB

♥♥♥♥, maybe for me, but Afterbirth+ isn't even listed as a Binding of Isaac DLC (on the BoI page)!

You must've heard from somewhere else, and more likely than not, that resource said that + requires Afterbirth

Fair enough. That mod support is enough, I can see how you'd want to get in on that and not necessarily the base-AB content.

+ doesn't work for some, and others just don't have Afterbirth. Which one are you?
