The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Afterbirth worth it or is Rebirth enough for a good experience?
£15 is quite a lot, there are many AAA games you can buy on sale for that money. i'd be a lot happier spending just £5 for rebirth but would I be missing out on much? thanks.

Also want to know.

Was planning to buy Afterbirth then I realised there's 2 dlcs.

And I would rather spend the $15 on a new game than a few new items

Afterbirth is apparently a good standalone, where Afterbirth + is more fanservice.
The major reason to purchase Afterbirth + will be the workshop contributions that will eventually be balanced and patched into the game.

To answer OP's question more directly, if you're new to Isaac, Rebirth is already a great experience.

If you feel like a champion when finished with Rebirth, Afterbirth awaits a new challenge.

Haha I just saw that I already own Afterbirth. O_o

Must of got it in a pack with Rebirth,
Guess I'm buying + now xD

What have you decided on McGook?

Rebirth is great all on it's own. There's enough content there to easily keep you going till the next steam sale. It's likely to be easier to remember what items do with a smaller pool too, and overall the game is arguably easier in Rebirth than with the expansions.

The downside is you won't have access to the steam workshop mods... though mods are still available for rebirth elsewhere, including the fantastic "antibirth" mod, which won't work with the expansions

Good decision. There's plenty of content in the base game and $5 is a whole lot easier to swallow on a game that you're not even sure if you'll like. Plus, if you do end up liking it, there's a huge mod for Rebirth, called Anitbirth, that you can try after you get tired of Rebirth. That adds a bunch of new content for free!
