Game progress not saving.

So, i've been playing the "internet demo" for a while, and everything was working good.

I decided to purchase the complete pack, because I think studios like this deserve it.

I killed mom, got back to the menu, and no progress was saved; No unlocks, no savedata picture change, nothing.

Deleted the savedata and started again; The same happened. Looked online for solutions;

Uninstall game and delete savedata and reinstall, change Steamcloud from 1 to 0 on the .ini.. I have no other mods than the item description one that cames with the pack.. Still doesnt save progress.. And I'm sick of having to go through the game to kill Mom to see if something changes (thank god the first playthrough is only until Mom)

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Just open the ini and changte Enablemods to 0

A shame that some people must play without them :(

Well, at a certain point in the game relatively close to where you were, you actually unlock the ability to play with mods and get achievements. You were a bit impatient, sadly.

Afterbirth+ mods prevent progress until you've killed Mom's Heart.
Until that point, don't use mods.
Then, you can ue them however you like and still unlock things.

No bug or anything. As Dasky wrote, you're too impatient.

Well, at a certain point in the game relatively close to where you were, you actually unlock the ability to play with mods and get achievements. You were a bit impatient, sadly.

"A bit impatient"... The game comes with the mods enabled. I killed Mom like 7 times, and no progress was saved. That's not impatience, that should be explained ingame.

I know it's easy to miss at first, but when you start up a game, look to the top left corner under your consumable item list. If you see an icon of a trophy under a prohibited sign, it means that achievements will be disabled for that run.

The crossed-out trophy doesn't mean only achievements are prevented, but all kind of progress. In this game, achievements and progress are the exact same thing.

Progress through the game is synonyms with achievements, actually.

To be fair, that is ridiculous that the game comes with mods enabled. I imagine you're not the first one to run into this and that's such an easy thing for the devs to fix.

would be nice a warning at the game menu saying something like "enabling any mods will prevent the game from saving your progress"

my mods are disabled but i still can't progress, game doesn't save my runs at all....

If you're on Repentance, make sure the debug console is disabled as well.
Check here how to enable the debug console, just put it at 0 instead of 1 to disable it:

I set enablemods and debug to 0 and it still won't save my progress. I don't understand.
