The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Is this a glitch?
I started a run as Magdalene, and when I reached Mom's heart (Haven't unlocked "It Lives" yet) and lost. However an item that I had that looked like a cross (forgot its name) respawned me with 3 soul hearts. I entered the boss room again only for the game to say that I was ??? (blue baby) and when I died I also looked like blue baby... Is this a glitch or...?

No, it's not a glitch. The Ankh respawns you as the blue baby on death. You will unlock this character later for regular play. Just keep going.

you either had the ankh, which respawns you as blue baby upon death, or the broken ankh, which is around a 22% chance to respawn you as blue baby upon death.

edit: already answered

That's intended. The Ankh revives you as the Blue Baby.

The upside of it is you can use an easy character, then die with the Ankh once your build is OP and get easy unlocks for Blue Baby. The downside is that if you already have those unlocks, you don't want to use it at all because it changes your character.

The other items that behave this way are Lazarus' Rags (revives you as Lazarus), Judas' Shadow (revives you as Judas, but with a 2x damage modifier instead of his usual 1.3x), and the Missing Poster trinket, which revives you as The Lost (but only in Afterbirth or AB+, in the vanilla version its effect is ... complicated, but nothing that's directly useful).

Thanks for clarifying, I was kind of confused...
