(FIX) Afterbirth Plus crashing on startup?

I was trying out mods I had on ab+ when I wanted to try teh binning of isek aferbirts 18 plus, and when I enabled it, the game crashed. When I tried opening it again, it immediatly crashed. I tried re-installing it, disabling DLCs, getting new DLLs, nothing seemed to work, but then, I fixed it.

So, all you gotta do is unsubscribe from your mods, then go into your file explorer, then into Documents, then a folder called "My Games" then go into "The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods", and I deleted everything, but you might be able to just delete the problem mods.

EDIT: If you use Discord, try turning off the discord overlay.

For people who still have not managed to fix this problem, I have been in this folder, I deleted everything and re-launched the game. It worked. I had a crash "isaac-ng stopped working" at the start of the game. By going to this link in windows explorer and deleting everything, this should work also at home.

I went to C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games and erare Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ MODS, this let me open the games with no more problems

to anyone who want to check what is causing without having to unnninstall everything,go to your
documents>my games>afterbirth+ then open log.txt (notpad++ reccomended) and check the last line,for me it was

[INFO] - HQX4 size: 960x540
[INFO] - Failed to load image users/utilisateur/documents/my games/binding of isaac afterbirth+ mods/item reworks/resources/gfx/ui/ui_chargebar.png
[ASSERT] - Costume ID out of bounds.
[INFO] - Caught exception, writing minidump...

then find which mod it is from and unninstall it,delete the mod from the folder and profit

I found that bitdefender had blocked the app for trying to change files in Documents, once i allowed it the app didn't crash :)

These are my settings I did a small test change the steam cloud to 0 and it will work. At least it did for me. Works with mods on to.

Hey, I've tried everything listed here, deleted everything, but I'm still crashing with the white screen of death. The only addon I got is this one right here. (also I deleted it and un subbed from it as well) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=834434536

I've deleted, uninstalled, disabled and enabled dlc, deleted mods, ect. Still nothing. Please help!

Sooo I have a really bad problem right now: everytime when I reinstall TBOI the game won't launch and steam tells me I need permissions and the content file is locked. One of the worst things about it is the game is stuck in downloading. I tried EVERYTHING but nothing worked. I even started a discussion on steam about it but I only got one answer so pls pls pls tell me (if you can). How to fix it. Thanks for the help
