The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Uninstalled some mods, game crashes on startup now.
So I wanted to do a daily today and went to disable my mods in-game. After disabling them and exiting the mod menu however, the game crashed. Tried to do this a few more times, with the same result.
I then went and unsubscribed from all the mods and now whenever I go past the intro cinematic, the game crashes.
I've tried verifying game cache, reinstalling, and some fixes in the pinned thread but nothing works.

Same exact ♥♥♥♥ happened to me yesterday, I'm so close to complete the game (Dedication achievement left + pick up some items), but I can't play ;__;.

Nvm dude, I found the solution! Go to Documents - My Games - The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth +. Then open options.ini (I think that's how it's called) with notepad, and set EnableMods to 0.

Then save the document, and the game should work fine.

That didn't work for me either, thanks for the suggestion though.

You've baked your mods into your savefile. Hate to tell you this but you have to reinstall all your mods.

Some people have found success in disabling them once they're re-installed the mods via the same method suggested above, but they require the mods to be reinstalled first.

Best of luck.

If all else fails, you can revert to a previous save (before you modded the game) via this method

Reinstalling the mods and then disabling them via options.ini didn't work, so I tried the method described in the thread you linked.

I'm now stuck with a 0% progress save file.
Tried pasting just the AB+ file, just the AB file, and then both of the files, but it always results in a 0% file.
Any ideas?

Actually, no I don't. Are you sure you're renaming the files correctly?

However if you didn't back up your saves from remote, you can simply delete everything in there, re-enable the Steam Cloud and fire up the game. Your saves will be rebuilt.

You'll probably crash shortly after, but hey at least the saves got rebuilt.

Alternatively, Alt+F2 at the stats menu with a fresh save will update all the unlocks. It may not count completion markers, but it will unlock whatever they have unlocked.

For example: Say you've completed a challenge. It won't be marked as completed, but the item it unlocked will be available in the game itself.

Edit: Alternatively, if you're on Win 7 you can right click the folder whitespace in remote, go to properties, previous versions and roll back to a time when you didn't mod the game.

Alright, Alt + F2 at the stats menu on the 0% file gave me all my unlocks back, though I'm still missing the completion marks. Won't matter though, as long as I don't have to donate 999 coins to the greed machine again, all's good.
Thanks a lot!
