Dark Princes Crown Sucks

For a two heart deal, you have to be at exaclty 1 red heart to have the effects active. And even then it is only a 0.7+ tears up and additional shot speed and range. To me this just seems like a lot of work to stay at that hp when you can get better outcomes from being at zero for ♥♥♥♥♥ of babylon or Empty Vessel.

ALSO Eve is better being at 0 hearts rather than the 1 heart's it requires and babylon allows her because she can use the razor for free as long as polaroid/empty vessel invicibility is up.

The lost, keeper, blue baby can't even use this item. THE KEEPER MAN, who loves tears up can't use it even if he is able to buy it. Even if he could, always staying at 1 hit unless 9 lives ain't worth.

The only thing that gives this some worth is if your going sheol path and take the negative. And that the potato peeler exists to lower your hp later if you mess up.

For two red hearts it doesn't even give any black hearts. And its not going to even take you below the tear cap if you already at it, making it hot trash.




I didn't have a high opinion of another item "dull razor" but its actually amazing with an orbital + polaroid. This though, nope. I've had only one AB+ run where dark prince crown was viable and that was a void run where a potatoe peeler dropped. And I intentially kept my hp at the bad 1 red heart level.

Yea, this item is pretty much pure garbage. I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they made it. At least add some sort of unique and strong tear effect when you're at 1 red heart.

I mean, maybe if your samson you'd iv bag yourself to 1 red hp at the start of every floor. But that does mean your going devil deals and those eat up red hp. But does he even need the tears most runs when the 5 cap is so easy to hit in a lot of runs unless you take tears down items?

I'm curious about dark prince's crown and libra together. But it's not come up in a run yet together.

In my opinion what makes this item so terrible is mainly that it costs 2 hearts. I have no problem with items that are only somewhat good situationally, not every item needs to be as functional as Dark Matter or ♥♥♥♥♥ Of Babylon, just to name two randomly. The 2 heart price makes it as expensive as Brimstone or The Pact and twice as expensive as Sin Robes or Mega Blast(!).

I'm just throwing bodies at the Ultra Hard Challenge and have tilted several times when daring to pick up a 2 heart deal and it was fricking Dark Princes Crown. But I guess that is Isaac as we love it, right

Well, i suppose it's a failed attempt to bloat the Devil Pool with tosh, to make Angel Rooms more viable.

It would be another story, if it would affect Tear-Delay instead.

Yeah, I really think that it was intended to be the worst two heart deal with the devil. And I am okay with that. Just dont take it if you dont want. And if you pick it up on curse of blind, well jokes on you then, you got tricked.
