so main game or after plus right away? would it be a different experiencs? are the items and challenges in rebirth still exist in afterbith +?
afterbirth+ adds a little bit of content but it's mainly for mod support.
But Yes, it IS a Different experience for each of the 3 games. Each expansion made various changes and has different enemies, item, rooms, rules. And the new games didn't just add things, it replaces and took away certain things from the past games.
I think it's fine to play whatever, but in my opinion, I'd start with Afterbirth because transfering your save from rebirth to afterbirth can be annoying. Afterbirth is very similar to Rebirth, but with some positive changes.
You get all the content, but with many changes to the point that AB+ is a whole new experience. But you can always uninstall After birth and +, and go back to playing regular Rebirth.
I would do the challenges and unlocks for Afterbirth first, because good rewards, and also, the new items can male it easier to do the Rebirth challenges
Rebirth is an ideal starting choice. You can choose to buy AB/AB+ at any time.
As kaninelove says, AB+ cannot be purchased alone without first getting AB. The content added by the expansions is combined with the content from core game, it changes the experience in it's entirety rather than, say, a menu toggling between 2 completely different experiences.
As xPAINxKINGx mentioned, it's entirely possible to disable the DLC's,which stores progression seperatly from Rebirth (though you can import your Rebirth progress into AB/AB+) and go back to the Base game experience.
It's entirely up to you. Some challenges and endings will unlock powerful items which could help you progress through the tougher experience presented by the DLC's. The tradeoff to this is that you may have to revisit previously completed characters to complete the new endings added by the DLC's.
Personally I'd stick with Rebirth as you learn the game. Not only is it easier, there's a ton of content already there and it'll take a while to learn everything there is to. Once you're familiar with enemy attack patterns, Item effects and hidden mechanics you can decide if you want more content.
thank you! ill play rebirth first then since it is easier
