They said skins will be grounded, but I dunno how much. The gun skins look 'good' from what I've seen. It's the operator skins that matter more, I hope they keep those looking good.
but... the things that bother me the most in CoD are the crossovers, pure ill-fitting trash like borderlands man and the excessive death effects. Weapon skins don't really matter at all in comparison.
There will NEVER be a toggle for this stuff in these games.
WHAT?
The other team you were facing had completely different characters for the classes. Which meant you weren't facing yourself in every battle like you do now. But you also remained on a completely equal playing field.
Also it's kind of stupid, that a grounded military shooter has 'heroes'. One that bunny hops around the map like an idiot, other that flies, and other that shoots bubbles out of his ass... really? Just give us regular soldiers with classes.
That said, the game will be free, so I can't really be too mad about this. We will see.
And that's supposed to say something? There will always be a "meta", even if the devs decided to remove specialists. Cope
we need it in every game to get rid of those stupid cringy skins
People who buy those skins don't do it so they can see them (it's a FPS game, you don't see your character 99% of the time), but they do it so others can see it. If you could remove that with a single option setting, nobody would be interested in buying.
Back when games were not monetized the way they are now, we did have those options. You could turn that option on, in say Q3A and have everybody use the same basic 'Sarge' model, so your game would run faster.
At least with this game, you can justify it, because the game itself is going to be free, but there are games that cost full price and still do this kind of crap. That is just pure greed (isn't it EA? isn't it Acti.-Blizz.?)...
The only thing I want them to change is that weapons should be accessible to all operators.
Right now, they only incentive to play a 'sub obtimal' operator, is because of the weapon choices.
You want to snipe, you need to play one of the two girls. And here we have a good example why operators are bad: you have two chices the bow girl, and the UwU kawaii anime girl.
Well the bow girl is clearly superior, because her skills are just better. In fact I've heard some people, who played the pre-alpha test, that the UwU kawaii operator is the worst out of all the six.
If you give all weapons to all operators, you'll have everyone play one, maybe two, that have the best skills, and the rest will gather dust.
This is the whole thing about meta and operators that people don't like, and I agree with them.
