Black Hawk Down no ammo...
They really didn't implement any way of getting ammo if your playing solo? They can't be that dumb... can they?

I find it interesting that people still don’t understand this game is based on a real-life mission that took place in Mogadishu in 1993. For those complaining, “I don’t have enough ammo,” that was the whole problem in real life too. The Rangers and Deltas didn’t bring enough ammo because the mission was supposed to be a quick snatch-and-grab—until everything went wrong.

As for the excuse, “Well, it’s a video game,” yes, it’s a video game, but one with a heavy emphasis on reality of that incident. This isn’t like the old Novalogic Delta Force games where you could easily take down waves of 50 enemies in a row.

If you came into this game expecting to freely pick up enemy weapons every time you ran out of ammo, absorb bullets like in Halo, or rely on resupply points (which doesn’t even make sense, since most Somalis weren’t using M16s or had 5.56 NATO cartridges lying around), then it’s on you for having a poor playstyle. This game wasn’t designed to conform to your expectations or a Call of Duty-style experience.

Can you cite any source on this exact situation in Mogadishu in 1993? I would especially like to read how they run out of ammo but refused to take enemy weapons because of ... what?
AK-74 and even older and bigger caliber AK-47 is an excellent weapon for short range engagements. It's also very easy to use. So, yeah, sources please.
On the other hand I've read people who actually _were_ fighting in limited resources situations. And the first thing they did - they got themselves an enemy AK as a backup weapon. Exactly because ammo was in abundance and weapon was good enough for short range.

Sure, they did, but not within the first 30 minutes of the mission. The game even includes a clear timeline indicating how much time has passed. It wasn’t until the later stages of the mission, when they were truly desperate, that they resorted to picking up enemy weapons. As for ammo, as long as you play with a reasonably sized squad, it shouldn’t have been an issue to begin with. Ammo shortages were a major concern throughout the entire incident and were even highlighted as a key issue in the film. Maybe you should give it another watch.

Enter with a machine gun...

It's not just a question of ammunition.
The character who does not die with a bullet hit, dies instantly with 1 kick :)
Bots are far from human norms (for example x-ray, wall-hack). In short, it is far from the feeling of operation...
The enemy being black or black-looking.(wasn't the map Afghanistan?).
lighting problems (open areas are like cellars)

And this game is not designed for one player.

Him: more bla-bla-bla with no source but his own imagination.

Cool story, bro.
You can continue to speculate to your heart's content about what YOU think happened there, but with no source supporting how "authentic and true to the facts" this game is, and how americans better die with no ammo, but not use enemy's weapon, it's just your imagination and nothing more.

I was wasteful with my ammo and ran out about half way through the first mission. Once I knew how it worked I got it
