We probably wouldn't need to resupply if AI teammates are watching our backs and helping out a bit.
Some basic commands like the original game would be nice. I loved telling the AI to hold position and using them as a support element suppressing the enemy while I flanked.

A lot of what you're asking for seems to be borne out of frustration
It's not difficult, but it would be good to have higher difficulties where there are more enemies.
You don't need checkpoints. They're all really short maps besides the last 2, and those don't need checkpoints
It's designed around it being attritional. Soldiers can give one another ammo or bandages
If this is necessary in order to get people to join mid game, then yes. But otherwise if it's a lot of work it's really not going to improve it much.
I don’t understand why devs don’t just do multiple difficulties to satisfy as many people as possible.
1. Difficulty is subjective, what you find easy other may find difficult, and what others find easy you may find boring. Adding a difficulty selection opens the campaign up to a larger range of customers.
2. Having checkpoints is an industry standard. Having to skip through the beginning cut scene of the mission if you die on the final objective is just a lazy way of increasing playtime disguised behind "being difficult".
3. My entire post is about this not being single player friendly. you cannot receive bandages and ammo from players that are not there.
4. A lot of work? this dev is a direct subsidiary of Tencent. Money is toilet paper. Indie games on 0 budget can manage AI squadmates. I don't care if it's "a lot of work".
