How to Singleplayer the campaign?

Is it even possible to play it singleplayer or do I have to play it co-op?

And it's designed as a Co-Op campaign, so the only way to play it solo is to create your own lobby, then password protect it

there is a option to select play by yourself. the game recommends not too but you can still do it.
