Login into game failed - have to repeat 2-3 times to get in
I have not seen this specific problem being mentioned here (only cant connect at all).

When I click Play in Steam it opens launcher and then tries to login only to fai, I then have to click "try again" several times to get in and launch the game.¨

is this common problem or is it something on my side?

Did you play the beta or pre-release? You might have 2 separate installations of the game on your PC. You need to uninstall the test version, then go to your appdata folder and delete anything to do with delta force in there.

1. Uninstall the delta force test client and live client.
2. Open your steam directory and delete everything to do with delta force. It should already be gone after uninstalling, just make sure it is.
3. Open start menu, type %appdata% and hit enter.
4. Delete everything starting with df_. That is what Delta force uses for their file naming, for some reason.
5. Reinstall the Delta Force client.

After doing this, I stopped having this issue. To be honest, it did not improve the performance of my game or anything like that. It just made me not have to hit retry when opening the game. Hope this helps.

This is a common problem. I had the same issue. To solve it, press "retry" and wait for the launch.

I did play the closed beta yes. But I uninstalled it properly (atleast I think).

I will try it.
Have you any Antivirus software installed?

no, I use only Windows Defender for last couple years.

This is blocking incoming/outcoming ingame/launcher packets. I also fixed the issue by completely turning it OFF and it worked.
Also you can use another trick - Install 3rd party Antivirus and add game folder, launcher/game executables to the exception and it will work.
Solution from Dragoninja worked, thanks!
