When in close range I just use the deagle over automatic weapons because it's practically a 'I win' button.
Because any of the current zero recoil meta builds (m4, sg552, cl19) are already extremely strong within their effective range
Decreasing the shots to kill will just turn these into instant delete buttons across the map which will be no fun
all the weapons need to be balanced against them first
Weird that...
even than the ttk can be long with sniper rifles
Sniper and marksmen rifle should 1 headshot kill and 2-3 shots kill you at range
Assault rifles are not even that powerful at short range... so at long range they should take roughly the same amount of hits to kill, given that it is already much harder to put 4-5 hits in the chest at long distance without a decent optic, vs putting 1-2 with a sniper rifle.
So the game already has a gun for every job, but ARs and LMGs are unrealistically underpowered and unfun to use from medium range onward
Then you area bad shot.
Snipers will kill in 1 headshot at any range I've been able to see, marksmen takes a couple extra to balance them out, but remains 2-3 shot kill out to 150m.
Mind you, you need to build the gun out to achieve best results.
Using the sr25 as an example, at stock it kind of sucks, 500ish meters a second velocity is slow with a range of 80m ish with notable recoil.
Built fully though for counter sniping, it's 140m before dmg drops off, and 1000m/s velocity with low recoil and good stability transforms it.
