Warfare -> Go with what ever looks snazzy and cool.
Operations -> Use the firing range and make your gun work for you.
You can also click the details button to see how your attachments work number wise if firing range is not enough. Also works in Operations pre-buy so you can check.
Just FYI that Stability will NOT increase your firing stability and only affect visual recoil of the gun, and not the stability of the gun during sustained gunfire.
General concensus:
Depending on how horizontal the kick is i apply mostly control but the more horizontal it is the more I appreciate the stability so it doesnt feel like a fireman hose trying to extinguish a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stretch limo when I let loose.
You will need to play around because a lot of guns can be built in a rather pretty generous number of ways. For example my M4A1 is built purely towards Control/Firing Stability because its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ laser and I use it for long distance relationships. Whereas my CI-19 is built with a drum mag + handling for grip/stock to allow faster ADS and solid ADSMS during gunfights. It also deals a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ more damage per shot by comparison.
how would you do a m7? a rifle with 20 bullets only..
