HE launcher vs AP launcher
they have the same muzzle velocity, but why then does the HE launcher seemingly drop way faster than the AP launcher? or am i just seeing things?

If you’re talking about the new launcher for the assaults my guess is higher projectile weight

This game isn't real life, you know. Purely a balancing mechanic. It should be AT choice for assault but it's short drop off distance makes it useless against vehicles, unless you want to suicide charge vehicles.

Same muzzle velocities but one has greater mass will cause it to drop faster. The AsH-12 fires heavy bullets and they drop noticeably faster.

thats not how physics work, unless the bullets or round has massive amount of drag compared to the other ones then there should be no difference in range and drop. the HE launcher is litterally worse than hand thrown grenades, especially since you cant even see the trajectory.

Weight causes drop. All drag does is slow the projectile down. .50 BMG (12.7x99) doesn’t seem to drop like 12.7x55 because there’s a lot more powder in the casing which makes it go farther in the same amount of time but if the bullets weight the same they will drop about the same distance.

weight does not matter if the velocity is the same. hell, if the heavier object of the same seize and shape travels at the same speed then the heavier object would go further because it would contain more enegry than the lighter object and resist drag more.

weight have no influence on how fast an object will drop. its all about drag, thats why a feather and a hammer will fall at the EXACT SAME speed in a vacum.
