Micro transactions
So I like the game, bought 2 season passes so far.
But the over-all microtransactions are... what should I say?

Awful!

I looked in to the operator skins.
I purchased 4 researches and I'm down 15 bucks.
And naturally ofc, you get the garbage cosmetics first and the actual skin last.
Each new research costing more delta coins.
Basically after 4 researches you're going to pay 20 bucks + per research and of course the actual cosmetic you want is locked after the 8th research scan.

1 operator skin can easily cost you a total of 80 bucks, that's more than the price of a fully released tripple A video game.

This isn't a means to compensate it being a free game and making some money from cosmetics.. this is just a scam.

Don't buy the operator skins, buy a game instead.

It's the Asian gacha system, I played the Street Fighter and Girls Frontline mobile games for awhile before I finished my new PC this summer and that's exactly what those games do. I ended up completely ignoring the system in those games and I'll continue to completely ignore it here too. Don't be a mark for predatory BS, it's just pixels, cosmetics are not worth the money.

The grand total is over 125$ for the guaranteed prize, i just don't understand how people are ok paying that much for a skin that isn't even that special.

They really want this to be the norm.

It's not a gatcha system, it is graduate unlocks via a paywall.
It's not a pack of cards where you have a small chance to get the item you want.

You have to buy everything separately, the item unlocks are actually in order from right to left. There's no randomization involved.

It's to give people who average or slightly below average in game a feeling of importance I guess. I never understood why people bought expensive AWP and knifes in CS:GO either, I mean I am still going to win from you with my default skins.
Yeh, it's a gamble. You can use delta bucks too for some of them, and you get those through events/battle pass.

I dont see anything in the shop that makes me wanna spend money. And the drop chances on certain chests are ridiculous. 0.08% for a Skin? loel.

Ah, I thought it worked like the ticket challenges in the game where you randomly get something off the reward list by cashing in the tickets, my bad. Anyway, both systems are stupid to me.. It's a tall sell to get me to buy cosmetics, even taller when I'm not guaranteed to get what I want.

It already is the new norm.

I can't hate on this game's microtransactions because you don't need to spend a single dollar to jump in and play and get the best weapons. Lots of skins are given for free, all weapons are free, all operators are free, the battle pass has lots of content and is only $15.

If you really want the skin, as you pointed out, you just know you are spending $125 for it, just forget the "gacha" aspect altogether, its a $125 skin - if you want it you buy it, same ♥♥♥♥ as expensive clothes irl.

You are guaranteed to get it if you spend the total which as someone said is $125. This is far better than other games where its an infinite gamble that goes well into the thousands of dollars (and you may NEVER get it). I'm sure eventually they'll have something like this too but for now its perfectly fair.

You're excusing their predatory behavior?

Sell the skin for its original value and don't lock it behind a paywall of multiple purchases.
This really leaves a bad taste despite the game being good and fun.

Pay that much for single useless skin...thats not anymore about having enough money or not. Its simply wrong and not normal.

I have no issues giving them +- 10 dollars per season for battle pass, but luckily i am resistant against these tactics and dont need to buy character or weapon skins for extremely overpriced costs. Their real value is like 5-10 dollars top.

Same, I just feel bad for supporting a product that is this predatory.
Yes it's free to play, yes the developers are entitled to make a profit on their product.
But indeed not with 125 per useless operator skin, 10 bucks per season pass is already a stretch considering the state the game is in and its overall quality. It's easily a 30-40 one time purchase game quality wise. Trying to squeeze more out of it is just delusional and wrong.
