Im finding this impossible to play.. fps is showing 160+ but i go into a slideshow 1 2 fps in big battles.

GPU utilization 98% CPU utilization 30%+

Ive tried ultra/medium & all other settings FSR on / off - i play at 1440p

5700x3d
RX 6800 16GB
32GB DDR4 3200
SSD
1.2KW PSU
165hts gigabyte monitor

i can play BF2042 on ultra 1440p 160fps+

Im hoping its just early & will get a performance patch or maybe im just missing 1 setting.

Get a better video card or put everything on lowest and/or don't play at 1440p. Idk why you're expecting much out of a 5 year old video card that was never very good to begin with. Could also be the typical amd driver issues, good luck with those.

most likely ♥♥♥♥♥ as f optimized. those stats do horizon 5 4k ultra at 120+.. so it should be doing 150 1440p easy..

How lazy are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to search for a similar topic. The solution has long been found, run through dx11 or rollback to 24.8.1 drivers until the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ developers fix the bug.

use Driver 24.8.1 or delete the game like me :D

Check your GPU's control panel and see if there's anything crazy like Super Resolution enabled. Super Resolution will double or even triple the amount of pixels needed to render a scene, making it nice to watch videos on, but terrible to play games.

Alternatively, it could be something like a particle issue, where everyone firing their weapons end up creating a ton of particles (which is an issue with CoD's ground war game mode) and it just makes it impossible to even play the game on high settings.

Could also be something else is using your GPU, like programs with hardware acceleration, like web browsers and Discord.

The recommended is a GTX 1060 or RX 5500. I think the GPU itself is not the issue. Also, 2k resolution isn't that difficult to run ever since the RTX series came out. A 2060 could still run this game at 60 FPS at 1440p, granted you have at least a Ryzen 5 processor. But in this case, it's a GPU bottleneck for whatever reason.

Also, alternatively, OP could try using the processor to render things for other programs (turning off hardware acceleration for other programs), but looking it up, it probably wouldn't run those programs well. It'd be well enough to use in the background, but not good enough to when it would be used itself.

Its a beast.. no idea what u r talking about. i play every single game on max without RT .
Anyway i uninstalled it.. overrated & tiny maps. ill try it in a year

The game here runs very smoothly.
Lower the shadows and volumetric cloud/fog and you should be good.
For some reason FSR isn't as good as dlss in this game.

Focus on the solution.
Always lower shadows and volumetric fog. they drain the video card and they don't improve a thing.
IF this don't help you out, we can search for other things to optimize your game.
