For our data, google and microsoft are already selling them.
Windows is a software developed by Microsoft, a US company with direct and publicly acknowledged government ties. Microsoft is a greater security and influence threat than any game or other software installed on Windows later.
"1) The Chinese government views Tencent as one of its national champion corporations."
US government views Microsoft as one of its national champion corporations.
"So, being forced to install LI Pass, a subsidiary of Tencent, with this incomplete list of actions and security issues, should be considered a serious problem. What are the ethics of a game developer who partners with this company, considering its history? There is NO VALUABLE PURPOSE for this mandatory acceptance of a 3rd party product to play a video game. What convinced these developers?
PUBG was forced to drop LI Pass (Tencent) in India due to the national ban on Chinese apps. TikTok is also banned in India. If the United States wants to ban TikTok, they should take a much closer look at the many tentacles linked to Tencent."
So being forced to install Windows to play games with "telemetry" that can not be disabled and corporation having contracts with US government should be considered a serious security risk. What are the ethics of a game developer who makes his games compatible with only Windows and not compatible with Linux? And those are the majority of devs making AAA games.
In essence, boys & girls do not trust either. US, China & India all pursue their own interest via all available means. If you use Windows for anything except games, you are most probably under surveillance of US government, and they will have access to all your information. OP just want only _them_ have access, not others. Which is understandable because he is, most probably, an american.
I, personally, use Windows only for games. If US or Chinese governments want to know my gaming habits - I'm ok with that.
