Just came here because I googled this after it just happened to me. Getting close to Field Marshal now and everytime I loose rank its because of this. People not playing ranked can just quit at any time so of course when your playing ranked you get backfilled into the worst situations. My last game I got backfilled on the last objective for a team that was getting stomped. still managed to get 700 spm, but still ended up losing rank. The entire ranked mode is an exercise in frustration, but I can't seem to stop fml.

So Im joining already running lobbies quite often and had no problem hitting third highest rank, colonel I believe. I mean if ure a good player u shouldnt have that much of a problem getting ur points no?

It's pretty easy going up to Colonel and even to general, but the requirements get steeper at that point. If you have a bad game and get <700 spm you'll likely be losing merit. If you join at the end of the game on a team getting stomped your missing out on score from all sorts of things (streaks, flag caps, ribbons etc). As a result it can be tough to get over the bar. I'm no godlike player, but I do MVP lobbies semi regularly, which is hard with the SBMM how it currently is.
Yesterday I went 45-5 and had third highest kills in the server, but I lost 12 Merit, like wtf??

Yeah, I'm currently at General 1 (2 stars) and ive kinda just been playing a few games in unranked first to see how the night is gonna go before actually playing ranked. Getting to colonel is easy but once you get to general your score per minute has to be from 620ish-720 (increasing the more you achieve rank) per game MINIMUM to get merit. Just playing good isn't enough if EVERYONE is playing like their jobs depend on it. You'd have to play as if your life is in danger if you wanna achieve marshal this season.

Yea, its crazy high pressure. General 2 & 1 are a real grind. Really pushing the limits of my ability. Had a game today, 60 kills 27k score (highest on the server)... still lost 11 Merit. I think they must be taking the piss at this point.

yeah i go full loot 1.5 mill etc then i died an i was spectating my teammate he was playing with a standard gear ticket white ammo yeah that's fair init going against a squad of full gold amour ammo etc when my team has the lowest value gear
