You do realize it takes all of 5 minutes to fully level up a weapon, right? The game throws weapon XP tokens at you from every single event tracker.

No, I'm not? You should max level whatever gun you want to use. You have TONS of wxp tokens. I legitimately earned like 30 of them on my first day of playing, which is enough to max out like 7 guns.

Or, what, do you think all the weapons you unlock as your player level increases are just better than the ones earlier on or something? Because that absolutely is not the way the game works. The two best ARs are available at lvl 1, you get access to one of the best sniper rifles, the best shotgun, and also one of the best SMGs.

If there's something you want to unlock when you level up? Cool! Max out the level on the gun you're using right now. Then play the game. And by the time you unlock the gun you want to use... omg, you got enough tokens to instantly max it out! Insane!

problem is that i dont want to level up whatever gun, i need to know which one i like first

problem is that i dont want to level up whatever gun, i need to know which one i like first

Then test them out at the firing range? The thing that lets you preview all weapons and attachments regardless of your level or progress?
