Pay to win means getting an advantage that free player CAN'T get. If you can "grind it" it's not P2W. Considering you can grind it and quite fast i might even say, wtf are you on about ?
did so and was able to get around like 30 premium tokens and some other ones too. used those to max out 2 meta weapons, the M4 and the SMG one, literally have not had ANY issues killing other people ever since then. didn't spend a dime
Common misconception, infused by proponents of p2w. Literaly, you are defining it wrongly, check definition of p2w on google, first hit.
Is it P2W if you have gear that's objectively the best in the game, but a person needs to play for 10,000 hours (or 10 bucks) for it? 10,000 hours would mean a year of playing (6 or so hours every day) roughly to earn it. And a year without it would be quite the disadvantage. Incredibly P2W scenario.
Inversely. 1 minute of grinding instead of 10,000 hours would be so small it'd be hard to call it P2W. Solely because how small that time frame is. Conceptually it is still P2W. But most people just wouldn't care even if they normally hate P2W games because of how small that time required is. Delta Force is more in the ball park of 30 minutes (1 match) before you're good. As all you generally need is one match before the gun near maxes out it's potential. 0 matches if you have free xp tokens.
Yeah I see the point. Delta Force is not that evil currently. But it's a pandoras box situation. It's also about being honest and fair. You can't be 85% honest and fair. You either are or are not. Devs sweared there will be no p2w (and still do) and here we have p2w. Why would we trust them further down the line?
Also you say 1 match. Let's assume that average player has successful extraction rate 50%. Average player A is not paying and average player B decides to invest a fortune. Now we have pvp where player A is mostly stock and player B is always golden. Extreme example but completely possible.
I don't know about you guys but when we played soccer as kids, every score counted exactly 1 point. For everyone. No one could pay money before the game so that his score would bring 1.7 points to his team.
If the game rules are not equal for everyone then you get frustruated players and toxic environment. But we are there already as will be seen in the replies below.
It's sad and pathetic now that game devs need to explicitly state there are no pay to win in their games. That should be the standard thing. I'm still new to this so I'm not sure whether it's actually pay to win free or not.
